Paradise Park has made it through what everyone hopes is the worst of the pandemic and is very much looking to the future.
Director Alison Hales “There have been times in the last 15 months when we have wondered if we could make it through, but with the support of the local community and businesses here we are, delighted to be open this summer and welcoming locals and holiday makers back into the Park again. We were thrilled earlier this year to win two Gold Cornwall Tourism Awards and a Bronze Southwest Tourism Award for the Park and the Red Panda Experience. Considering how tough times have been, this was a real boost for the staff as we reopened in April.
One recent new arrival is Henry a Hawk-headed Parrot (pictured below) a pet bird who was rescued by ‘Open Arms Parrot Rescue’ in Coventry and has now found his forever home at Paradise Park. He is a chatty bird so listen out for him the next time you visit. His favourite phrases are ‘What are you doing?’, and ‘I’m a good boy!’ as well as ‘Hello Henry’ and lots of laughing and whistles. You may see him raise the colourful feathers on his nape to form a fearsome looking fan, to make himself appear bigger!”
